The next opportunity for training is scheduled for February 3rd and 4th in Morrillton, Arkansas. If by chance we actually have a winter and inclement weather should derail our plans, we have the backup dates of February 10th and 11th. The core topic of this session will be on drugs. We will also cover the annual requirement of racial profiling during this session as well. Check back as additional details are posted.
A Linesville man remains in Crawford County jail after allegedly attacking a state constable who was attempting to serve a bench warrant.
Ryan Edward Daniels, 29, was held for court following a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Sam Pendolino on Friday.
Constable Rickland Bayles Sr. located Daniels at 114 Spring St., Springboro, at 11 a.m. Oct. 24 in an effort to serve a warrant for a traffic violation, according to the affidavit of probable cause filed by police in the case. Upon being ordered to accompany Bayles to court, Daniels refused to get off the couch. Daniels then told Bayles to get his hands off him as Bayles shook his arm and ordered him again to get up, according to police.
Daniels then punched Bayles in the chest, stood on the couch and repeatedly kicked Bayles in the stomach and leg, police reported. As Bayles drew his pepper spray, Daniels allegedly fled the home.
Daniels faces a felony charge of aggravated assault and a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest. He was assigned monetary bail of $10,000.
